On February 19, 2023 my husband of 41 years died right in front of me.  There was no warning, no telltale signs.  He was here, and then instantly he was gone.  And there was nothing I could do to save him. I was devastated.  I felt like I was wandering with no purpose, desire, or meaning.

One day I scrolling through Facebook, I came across a post from a pastor I had met a few years earlier.   It said, “Are you stuck in grief?  I can help. I am trained Grief Coach.” I did not know what a Grief Coach did, but I knew I needed help.  It was what he said at the end of our first talk that resonated with me– “Louisa, I just want to help you, and I will walk with you in this journey for as long as it takes.”  That was the beginning of our coaching relationship and moving forward.  Getting a Grief Coach was one of the smartest things I did when my husband died.

As coaching continued, I was offered the opportunity to become a Grief Coach.  I have now completed 140+ hours of training at the ICF/PCC Level in coaching Life, Grief, and End of Life. Although I coach in all 3 areas, I specialize in Grief Coaching.  It is my way of paying it forward as I honor my husband.

I strongly believe in coaching.  Coaching does not try to fix people, but rather partners with them in whatever journey is pursued whether it is life, grief, or end of life.  Coaching emphasizes new personal growth from where you are now to where you’d like to be.

You are loved, you are whole, and you matter.  As a trained coach, I am here to walk with you in your journey.

In peace,   Louisa Klaven
